By Henry Ubus
The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) Udu Local Government, Hon. Evangelist David Siloko( JP) has urged all the PDP ward Chairmen that the party’s monthly meetings are sacrosanct, even as he advised them to Participate in the ongoing membership e- registration of the party.
The Udu PDP Chairman Hon. Siloko disclosed this yesterday, Tuesday 09/08/21, at his country home in Ubogo during a meeting with the 10 Ward PDP Chairmen and their secretaries. He reiterated that the importance of regular meetings cannot be overemphasized as it will help strengthen the party at the ward level.
Speaking further, Siloko added that the party needed more members ahead of the 2023 general elections. He charged ward secretaries and their chairmen to disseminate information to their wards whenever there is a general meeting at the LG, as ward Chairmen and their Secretaries will subsequently be held liable for any poor attendance.
During the meeting, Hon. Siloko, while thanking the PDP Chairman of ward 3, Hon. Chief Friday Orugbo for being consistent with his monthly ward meetings, revealed that the Udu PDP Caucus had set up the Udu Local Government Empowerment Committee headed by Hon. Raymond Edijala with representatives from each of the wards.
Speaking further, Hon. Siloko said the ongoing PDP Party Secretariat is currently at the Lintel level. He also hinted that the project would have surpassed its present stage if not for financial challenges.
He added that Delta State Governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa had invited the party for the thanksgiving and reception of his late father Sir, Chief Okowa at Owa Alero in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta on August 21/08/21.
The high point of the event was observing a minute silence in honour of Late Chief SN Brigue, whose funeral comes up on September 3rd 2021, at his country home, Oghior.
